In the Restaurant and Tasting Room at Villa Velia, you can sample the local agricultural products of our own farmhouse and explore the delights of the best cuisine of Calabria.

For our guests we offer foods that accent the ancient flavors of the Angitola Valley.

The extra virgin olive oil produced in our farmhouse and the full-bodied wine of the Angitola Valley rule the table, marrying beautifully with our unique traditional dishes.

Monterosso is one of the those small hillthowns that enchants visitors once they have discovered it.

Those who visit it are fascinated not only by its picturesque position but also by the warm hospitality of the people, the simple but tasty foods and the typical Mediterranean landscape.

The town has a medieval structure wrapped around a hill topped by a tower probably of Norman origins from the 11th century.

The tranquil streets that are interwoven in a labyrinth give one the sense of the arcane and mysterious.

The town overlooks the beautiful Angitola Valley, a territory rich in history that has been dominated by various civilizations from Greek to Roman and from Arab to Norman.

Its award winning museum contains artifacts of local crafts and agriculture of the past.

Even today there are local craftspeople and artisans who continue the traditional work in clay, iron and wood.
